"Dachshund" Drawing

I am an artist based in Serbia. Through satiric relationship between people and animals I am trying to show the human state of mind in which we live in. Using ironic texts, which are to be found in most of my works, I am trying to bring the attention to the distorted state of mind and values that rule our society. These equivocal texts play a very important role in the interpretation of the painting as much as in transmitting the message and the whole composition of the painting. The paintings have the form of advertisement, which are getting more and more frequent in our society and are becoming a part of our everyday life. The modern lifestyle is marked with the idea that everything is on sale. People today have a distorted moral system and wrong values which make them set a price for everything just for the sake of gaining profit. This is what I want to suggest in my advertisement themed paintings in which I show the endangered animal species on sale. The main art medium I use is acrylic and I often combine it with different acrylic and oil markers and other drawing materials. I draw on canvas or paper. I plan to work on big formats that would draw attention of an observer to the story I am talking about by their monumental values. In my portfolio you can see the works from my art-book where I put my ideas. What I find interesting in my art-book is that I buy old books or old market catalogues and then work with acrylic on them and use the base rich in color that those printed papers offer. This drew my attention so my plan for the next period is to make my own book which I would exhibit as an object.
