Josephine "Josie" (Foreman) Wines was born and raised in Nebraska until the age of 7, when her family moved to Northern Indiana. Still in Indiana, she lives with her artist husband Chad Wines II. They sell their art under the name of Old World Arts. She creates a wide variety of art that ranges from fine art to loom woven rag rugs. Her main inspirations to create her art pieces comes from a want to show a new side to things she sees everyday that is often taken for granted. She wants to challenge the norm and bring different subjects to light through her art. She loves trying new mediums, new techniques, and mixing them to find new combinations. Josie's specialties lie in acrylic and oil painting, charcoal, oil pastel, mixed media fine art, crochet, embroidery, and weaving rag rugs. For her fine art, she has a mix of still-life's and portraits, as well as nude and clothed figure drawings. The majority of her fine art for sale on this site is from her college assignments and in studio work.
