Ethel Rosenberg was executed in 1953 for spying at the height of McCarthyism...she was innocent..this is the first of my series of paintings and drawings of spies, people tried for spying who weren't spies, assassins and dodgy politicians...since I came out of the Priory 10 years agoand got clean and sober, my 87 year old mum has been spilling the beans on my grizzly family history over 1,000...the plummeting downward mobility, the sense of noblesse oblige,the misguided loyalties,the real heroes and villains
