Face Time Drawing

My work is organized in a grid of screens. Each painted screen functions metaphorically as a window between the actual and the virtual, between presence and absence at the same time. I paint about the important fragment of my recent life filtered through the boundaries located in between two actual/digital worlds about mother-son via skype séances. I analyze colors of glowing screens and nonverbal gestures as body language of my skype collocutor. I photograph the fleeting moments or do the screen shots and then I reregister them through the language of the medium I am dedicated to, the medium of painting. I would like not only to save these images as a personal album of skype experiences but also to involve the viewer in thinking about his own on line off line experiences, his own relationship to the technology that increasingly defines us
