ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a true black and white (or black and cream) monochromatic drawing. It is not a greyscale image as there are only two tones (light and dark). It represents my venture into abstraction, away from photorealism. It is concerned with texture, pattern and line rather than realism. It is part of a series of artworks engaging with the formation of lexicon and visual symbolism within early human history. It is partly inspired by the Owl of Chauvet, a Palaeolithic cave painting from France)
