About The Artwork
This is a three-hour portrait study of a young man named Garrett done in San Luis Obispo, CA this year 2020. I used Artist's Loft watercolor pencils on paper carefully blending cross-hatching lines and using a water brush to blend into paint when needed. This was such a fun process because the longer you look the more surprising the color chords that become apparent. I was thinking about the stunning drawings by the Catalonian painter Mr. Aryz when I made this.
