About The Artwork

This work “Genesis of a Philosophical Concept: Chapter I - Clarity (Shape)” is a leaf out of the portfolio “A Memory Sculpture – The Genesis of a Philosophical Concept” (2020). It is located at the interface between Philosophy, Psychology, and the Fine Arts. This work is drawn on the slightly browned paper (about 25 years old) of a philosophical notebook in which philosophical thoughts and drafts were collected. More generally “Memory Sculptures” are performative compositions which translate psychic processes into direct physical actions on paper. Based on a symbol-language the displayed drawings act as thinking tools to design an internal architecture of sculptural memory. This work is signed on the reverse and provided with a work stamp as well as an artist stamp with information about the materials, year of creation, title, size etc. Please follow the link to view more works from this series: https://www.saatchiart.com/art-collection/Genesis-of-a-philosophical-concept-Chapter-I-Clarity/73082/373102/view
