The inspiration for my work comes from my many walks in wastelands, polders and rugged hilly regions in the Leningrad Region and Vyborg. I work in different styles. Although my paintings are not alike, the theme is very similar. Abstract paintings are a formal approach to the landscape in order to convey the essence of the landscape, to realize the light, space and emptiness in the landscape, the plane of the Dutch landscape. I constantly reduce and simplify landscape elements, making them more schematic and conceptual, and also flatter. Other abstract pictures and pictures of action are abstract translations of feelings and experiences during walks: immateriality, emptiness, colors or spatiality. Capturing the moment is everything. To reflect energy, vitality in my canvases, I motivate every day to come to my studio. I am constantly adding new materials and trying new methods to push my process to the limit. I work slowly towards abstraction. My essays strive to create this fleeting magic and inspire those who see my work to take a closer look at the world around them, to discover beauty and meaning in unusual places. I pay tribute to the nature of the world, in all its wonder and chaos, throughout my work.
