Geoff was born in Chicago, and currently resides in Los Angeles, California. His work has evolved over a span of 6 decades, from initially representational images to the current non-representational, BUT, always subjective creations. Geoff’s work is founded on fundamental belief that true freewill is limited to the attitude we express when stimulated by the elements of the universe. Geoff’s images are based on providing a medium for experiencing the viewer’s true freewill. He refers to the process as “subjectivism”, it is the reciprocal of abstract art. Rather than taking the various pieces of a representational study and having them summarized into an “abstraction,” his work is initially nonrepresentational and upon observation it forms images in the mind’s eyes of the viewer. It is the viewer’s attitude at that moment in time that determines what they see. Geoff ‘s objective is for each of his images to offer viewers a sense of their unique attitude. Each person’s subjective sense of the negative and positive spaces at a moment in time provides their experience from the work.
