Lets begin with som basic info on this Piece. If you choose to get an Aluminium Print it will be printed on the surface of a 3 millimeter alu plate which lends to it a very in-your-face photographic experience of great clarity. It is not framed and in my opinion should not be as the alu has a nice finish in itself with rounded corners. On the back side there’s an extra foursided frame that supports hanging on one or two screws in the wall or wires from above the image. Screws with raw plugs are included. Now, working with with the flat, graphical form of the Swallowtail Butterfly I pursue the colour as a variable parameter of the image. Inspired by the colour change in Andy Warhols pictures of Marilyn Monroe i hope to represent that Pop Feeling of his, and by superimposing the insects upon the concentrated spot-like Sunset on Mars to achieve a nice, crisp colour contrast effect. The aluminium print also serves as a means to get a clear colourful image due to the blank surface of the top quality paint used.
