Andiswa Bahana Matobo (1996) was born and raised in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Her strong African roots have been reflected in her art, being characterised by nature, wildlife and Afrocentric abstract pieces. As a self-taught artist, her art career was ignited during the 2020 Covid lockdown era, which is when her craft shifted from animation to realism art on paper. To date she has exhibited at the Art of Health (2022) , the Go Nature Go, GMAC Trust (2022) exhibitions and has participate in the Jacaranda Art Fair (2022). She holds a Bc Honours in Geographical Information Science and Earth Observations from the University of Zimbabwe. As a pencil artist also exploring other mediums, she gathers her inspiration from her past experiences, present emotions and future aspirations. For her, art is a platform where she can freely display her frustrations, joy, struggle, pain and diversity of being raised as the black African girl
