Art Description

Drawing: ink, coffee, gesso, Acrylic on Plastic.

The piece together with many other works of this kind were shown in the 2010 LA Art Show

The idea I wished to address relates to some notorious or possibly deviant behaviors in childhood, behaviors that may follow a person for the entire life, more specifically in this case to repetitive comfort behavior such as rocking The pieces illustrate the mood of alienation and express the body language peculiar to this particular behavior…The lack of background and of color is to heighten a sense of isolation. Through this work I attempt to encourage the viewer into consider a more detailed analysis of factors shaping our identities.

The drawing is made on polycarbonate sheet called lexan , type of durable plastic.
