About The Artwork
This work was inspired by the teaching of Josef Albers. I sought to create the illusion of complex space and form using simple line patterns. The use of a soft nabbed calligraphy pen allowed me to work relatively quickly on the slightly textured surface of heavy Arches watercolor paper.(Archival/Acid Free)

I studied painting, drawing and color with Josef Albers at Yale University and have recently returned to full time painting and drawing after a career in Graphic Design. My work is in many private collections and has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art Lending Service, the Neuberger Museum, the Flinn Gallery and Anelle Gandelman Fine Art. In 2008 I was an artist in residence at the Albers Foundation in Bethany, Connecticut.
