My inpiration William Ernest Henley's poem Invictus. A kneeling giant, but he is combative. He is weighed down by small man. The giant is a hybrid being, he has a bird's head I wish viewers see the courage of giant. I show little men running in all directions. The little men represent us in society. i choose this medium for its fluidity. The matter on her face is to show her suffering. I like the directness of the ballpoint pen. my style is illustration.

Mainly figurative at the start of her career, Myriam Andrew then experimented with abstraction. She then achieved a symbiosis between abstraction and figuration. Figuration takes over again, with singular shapes and colours. Her paintings and drawings question identity, society, the versatility of man, the place of women in society, slavery and anatomy. She is passionate about Michelangelo Buonarroti, Kandinsky, Frida Kahlo, Henri Matisse, Kehinde wiley, Chéri Samba and J.P Mika. Myriam Andrew's biros drawings depict little people, their humanity, their character, their attitude, their behaviour in society in the face of life's circumstances. Her work is richly coloured, using acrylics, oils, coloured inks, felt pens and collage.
