Currently I work as a restorer of precious metals in Prague. It is a job that is also my hobby. Although I like discovering new possibilities in creation, including digital technologies, I am a bit from the old school and I love classical art methods. I like a contact with the material and the tool and its tangibility, whether it is an ordinary pencil and a sheet of paper, paints and canvas or my favorite technique right now - engraving with an old steel burin into a copper plate, then applying paint and printing from clearly engraved lines on paper using a printing press. During printing, there is a great moment of surprise when you peel off the printed sheet of paper from the copper plate and you can evaluate the result, which is always a little different. "Gravure au burin" is an ancient technique made famous by masters as A. Dürer and is now almost unused and forgotten, and perhaps that is why I enjoy using it to depict themes that touch me in some way. The pieces of art by my favorite authors usually contain a bit of magic, decadence and darkness, yet I find the sun myself and I like to laugh, so I hope that my creations will entertain the viewer a bit at the same time.
