Si Chan

Shih Ing Chan, more widely known as Si Chan, was born in 1975, Penang, and graduated with a Diploma in Fine Arts (Malaysia) and Degree in Interior Design (London, UK). Si Chan joined Urban Sketchers Penang in 2014 and is an active member of the Penang Watercolour Society. She doodles freely with bold lines en plein air to capture the rhythm and movement of city life with bustling human activity. Her formal training in structure and design also provides a professional element to her sketches. Si Chan comments that plein air sketches allowed her to develop a good observation and discover a personality in her sketches.
