About The Artwork

I noticed it first, a faint glimmer, as she tossed her hair. Unsure of what caught my eye, or why I was so curious, I continued to watch the way she moved as she turned between friends talking and laughing. She turned once more, faced me briefly, then past. Again I had seen it, a subtle but unmistakable sight. Deep in her eyes I witnessed, or maybe just felt, a flame flickering with the wind blowing through the cantina. Knowing that I should not stare, curiosity grew to intrigue, drawn in by a need to know, when the obviousness of my interest called her attention. Transfixed in a moment, frozen between heart beats, self awareness set expectations of impending rejection for the fool I must look but also the faint humming, a memory of a tune we sang as children. Hmmm, Hmhm, mm of mine… hmm, hmhm hm let it shine. Then the same light of creation that announced itself to the nothingness, bursting through the void, pure radiance shone once more when she smiled at me.

Lucky is a Phoenix-based mixed media artist who seeks to capture the spirit, passion, and pain of life. His mission is to help those that struggle with mental health to have a voice, feel loved and valued for who they are. In a past life, he earned a B.A. in History from Grand Canyon University, but his observations of the world began at a young age. His art uses the classical techniques of portraiture, landscape and abstract drawing and painting that he learned through an obsession with self-study combined with digital technique and constant experimentation to create a contemporary feel. He's been featured in a number of publications and his work is part of the permanent collection of his mother's fridge. Lucky has painted commissions for patrons throughout his home state of Arizona and is happy to add Dallas, San Fransico, and Denver to his growing network of collectors.
