About The Artwork
I was fortunate to get close, some would say uncomfortably close to a pride of lions. Of course I was in a jeep along with several other people, a driver/guide and a tracker. Still, it was an open vehicle and we had lions on three sides. We came within a foot of a sleeping lioness, when we pulled into the little glade where the pride was having their siesta. I thought that was cutting it close and the driver/guide had a great comfort level with these big cats. So you can imagine my surprise, when I heard the tracker say to the driver " Did you see that lion sleeping by the tree?" to which the guide/driver replied "No, what lion?"
