Love in the Time of Covid Drawing

Of course this piece is inspired by Picasso and in particular some of the drawings in his sketchbooks which are among my favorite of his works. I owe the title and idea to Colombian novelist Gabriel García Márquez. One of my favorites also. His masterpiece "Love in the Time of Cholera" feels timely now. Read it if you haven't. Dating was challenging enough before the pandemic. Now it can potentially kill you. Some of my single friends have put dating on hold and some have not. I think about them a lot. I worry about the lonely ones and the ones out there trying to find love during a pandemic. This piece imagines the first date under the new normal. This started as an ink transfer drawing and I added color with ink and maybe some watercolor. This is on heavy duty (thick) archival cotton paper. It is luxurious and loves taking pigment. All of my work is signed and dated on the back but if you prefer it signed on the front that can be arranged.
