Marighella, the movie Drawing

My digital form of popart that I use to artistically represent a diversity of themes ended up being intensely impregnated in my art style and also in the use of traditional painting techniques, as was the most recent case in the use of colored pencils. I love making portraits because, in addition to being extremely symbolic, they carry a lot of information about the person portrayed, such as how high will be the contrast intensity to be used, the chosen pose, highlighting the illuminated areas, among others, and allow to understand a little the person's personality along the art production. This portrait, made for my popart portraits portfolio, was produced in color pencils on paper and it is a tribute to the Brazilian actor/singer Seu Jorge that performs the character Carlos Marighella on the Brazilian movie Marighella about the man who fought, in the 60s of the last century, against the military dictatorship that deprived various cultural segments of freedom in Brazil. . This portrait is my vision about the original movie´s poster and I was trying to create a variation that evoques the personality levels that Marighella, the charcter, will developing along the movie. The technique of painting with colored pencils demands attention, dedication and no rush from the person who uses it, as it is a technique that delate the artist in a hurry.
