Growing up in Fort Lauderdale John Ferro began drawing at an early age. He was so enthralled with drawing that he began drawing on anything that didn’t move, including walls, the underside of the dining room table and any piece of paper that was within reach. At age ten he was enrolled in private art classes under the tutelage of Jeannie Norman Chase and studied drawing and painting focusing on portraits and the human form until age 18. He was then accepted into the Art program at the University of South Florida, learning and practicing the various techniques of painting, ceramics and sculpture. He studied directly under Jeffery Kronsnoble, majored in and continued to perfect his drawing techniques. Throughout his college career he worked full time as a Picture Framer and then as a commercial Silk Screen Printer. After graduating he accepted a position with Resource Inc. as the Art Director producing illustrations for commercial training materials. Moving back to Fort Lauderdale he worked as a freelance commercial artist for several years and then decided to pursue a career in the emerging field of computers. After 30 years of a rewarding career and raising a family, always keeping up with drawing as a hobby, he has returned to the professional art world and his first love… Drawing with the help and business advice of his #1 fan and loving wife Mary.
