ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was one piece of over one hundred drawings made from photographs. The idea was to overlap images to create something that was not of one of the images or the other but something else. In this drawing light was frozen in two incidences and color was added from behind the translucent paper to emanate soft colored light. The result is a singular image with multiple dimensions.

I am a plein air painter, print maker, and photographer. I also write and illustrate my own books. I am the author of "A Brief Instruction in Christian Religion," (A translation of Faustus Socinus), "The Chronicles of the Field Mouse Timothy," (Corn,Tomato,Wheat, Cotton, Sweet Potatoes, Rice Paddy, Pond Mouse and Yosemite), "Nature Vision" (Poems), and I have illustrated the short stories of my late daughter Sandra Fontana "Cereal at Midnight." I love nature and the wilderness. I am a proponent of the global national parks movement.
