Daniel Dacio is a Spanish painter and art restorer based in Madrid. His work explores myth, the human body and symbolic narrative through contemporary figurative painting. He studied Fine Arts at the Complutense University of Madrid and was later admitted as a copyist at the Prado Museum, where he studied the techniques of the Old Masters directly from the original paintings. Alongside painting, Dacio has explored techniques including woodcut, engraving, egg tempera, mural painting and polymeric stuccoes with marble dust. He has also worked as an illustrator for specialized magazines, web designer and storyboard artist for film and television. His current body of work, The Error of Prometheus, revisits classical mythology as a reflection on knowledge, ambition and the fragile balance between creation and destruction.
