This is an invitation to simply come back to ourselves; over and over again. Embracing self-awareness, shedding external expectations, and connecting deeply with our inner self. Part of the series Present Moments, this piece serves as a portal for us to connect with the here and now. Created during a meditative process of no-mind, these paintings serve as a gateway to feel and to just be. The invitation is to do nothing but feel; be. Be with the art, yourself, your body, maybe some sounds, some other beings and observe what messages it holds for you in any given moment. Guided by the teachings of Osho, Ramana Maharshi, Thich Nhat Hanh and others, my main practice is to live fully in the present moment. Painting helps me to achieve this quality as well as to anchor this presence in my being. I have been able to observe that the finished artworks serve this same purpose for others. In order not to influence the viewer in any way, I tend not to describe what the painting means to me as this is already in the past. The absence of text helps us to feel rather than think, and to receive the paintings through our senses and intuition rather than mental information. Having said that, please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel that you need any further information once you have taken the time to connect with the piece yourself. • • • some practical advice Please note I cut the paper by hand and sometimes the edge might be a few millimetres off. This piece has been exhibited in a public art gallery for meditation practice. Hence, the paper might have received some minor, hardly noticeable, marks from handling it. The wooden framing system you see has been designed by myself, inspired by the traditional Japanese hanging scrolls. It is available upon request but bear in mind that it does not protect the piece over time. It is fairly easy to install and comes with video instructions for assembly. To preserve the piece I suggest you get it framed behind glass.

My body was born in Luxembourg in 1980, where I used to be known as Petz Scholtus. I grew up on a family farm from where I went to London to study art and design at Camberwell School of Arts and at Goldsmiths College (BA Hons). After London I moved to Barcelona in 2004, where I enjoyed working as a sustainable designer and entrepreneur for many years. Early on I was invited to America Sanchez’ Club del Dibujo where my passion for drawing was reignited. I started to dedicate more and more time to drawing, but it wasn’t until I entered Cesar Manrique’s museum workshop in Lanzarote that I knew: I had to paint! In 2020, thanks to a pandemic and an ill body, I underwent a kind of personal and professional metamorphosis. A name change gave me the necessary energy to shed old beliefs and embrace a new found liberation and empowerment to live life as an artist and massage therapist. I currently have my workshop in Barcelona, where I mostly work with Chinese ink and paper. My work is influenced by different forms of meditation and the study of sumi-e (Chinese ink wash painting) under the guidance of Maria Eugenia Manrique. Becoming a student of Muditosan to learn the Essence of Touch, a Conscious Touch massage technique based on Osho’s teachings, is further shifting my work and finally opened the door to the abstract. When in Barcelona, I love to receive guests at my workshop as well as connect with people through the art of Conscious Touch & Reiki massages. I also spend some months a year in Arunachala, India, too deepen my spiritual art practice.
