"My Torso" Drawing

I love spending my time drawing and painting in my little atelier that is also my kitchen for the moment. I have a small space with just enough room for an easel and it is perfect to me. In my 28 years of life, I have found that imagery making is the only thing that make some sense to me and gives me a feeling of purpose and direction. I struggle with connecting to other people and this is a way for me to attempt communication. I do not have kids or a career. I have my images and I want to share them with you. In my art I like to explore subjects such as loneliness and purpose in life, or lack thereof. Also, the subject of ageing in the perspective of a still quit young woman who does not have any academic degrees or ambitions, and neither has a will to start building a family of her own. Maybe the problem is having to much freedom. That is what the older generation tell me. I have noticed that the urge to do what is expected of me or to do what most other people are doing, despite not having any genuine interest in that life myself, occupies my thoughts a lot. Its the feeling of alienation that throws me down a deep pit that is so overbearingly hard to get up from. I am sure there are other people like me. But instead of sub-coming to complete self-annihilation, I am creating meaning through making images. It interests me to mix traditional motives and academic techniques of drawing and painting with a more simple and free way of making art.
