Known for her breathtaking sculptures full of movement, grace, and lyrical impressionism, Ms. Sabol has shown her work in New York City, London, Honolulu, New Zealand, and Italy. Her sculptures can be seen in the public collections of Rocky Mountain National Park, Glacier National Park, Quiet Waters Park, and in many private collections throughout the world. “The focus of my work is the depth of expressiveness of the figure.” From her studies while completing an immersive artist residency in Italy near Florence, Ms. Sabol's work shows the influence of the sculptural masterpieces she encountered in Europe. Her sculptures can be seen in the public collections of Rocky Mountain National Park, Glacier National Park, Quiet Waters Park, and are held in many private collections throughout the world. Her work has won awards in international and national exhibitions. Lisbeth Sabol is represented by Cedar Street Galleries in Honolulu, Hawaii; The Arts & Artisans Gallery, Virginia; The Art Space on 211, Virginia; and Wine Loves Chocolate, Virginia. A selection of her stone-carvings inspired by and created during official National Park Service residencies were recently highlighted in the national NPS exhibition "Through Your Eyes” about artwork in U.S. National Parks. Lisbeth's work in public collections includes sculptures in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado; Glacier National Park, Montana; and Quiet Waters Park, Maryland. Her marble sculpture at Rocky Mountain National Park is a detailed portrait of 14,259' Longs Peak she sculpted after climbing to the summit while NPS Artist-in-Residence in the Park. While official Sculptor-in-Residence at Mt Rushmore National Memorial in 2000 and 2001, Lisbeth sculpted several original sculptures while onsite demonstrating her stone-carving techniques to Park visitors. She was granted access and climbed Mount Rushmore itself to study the colossal carving. In 2003, Lisbeth spent a month carving a two ton block of stone at The Tareitanga International Sculpture Symposium in Wellington, New Zealand, a prestigious invitational event that features sculptors from all over the world. She sculpted a larger than life-size figure emerging from the block of native New Zealand stone. Lisbeth is a graduate of The College of William & Mary, earning degrees in Fine Arts and Biology.
