This is a picture of one of the largest offshore oil rigs now retired and being completely recycled in the Northeast of the UK. The impression when viewed is one of a mix of sadness, change, and progress due to the changing nature of the energy industry and decline of traditional industries. Also of hope because of the almost total recycling of materials from this and the work it provides.

I live in London and I trained as a Portrait Painter to give me the skills in methods and materials that would allow me to go on and apply that knowledge to landscape work. Since I graduated from art school I have been working on industrial and construction site pictures either in charcoal or oil. My interests are in large industrial sites, steel works, railway works, oil rigs, docks. I have a number of projects underway at any time including motorway bridges and motorways and construction sites.
