Penguin family Drawing

This piece is to celebrate the complex flightless bird, in particular the emperor penguins. This shows a female penguin coming home with food to hatched young that the father had survived a harsh winter protecting. They have relationships and even same sex relationships, they all have a unique call to identify their young amongst hundreds of other young hatching eggs. I would like to still highlight although though may not be as depleted in numbers they are still depleting along with the polar ice caps they are still in danger as much as everything else that lives in the arctic. I wanted to capture the emotion in the ritual and the warm end to a bitter journey.
