ABOUT THE ARTWORK

“That which was destined to remain hidden has come to light” Sigmund Freud “Never before him has the representation of an idea replaced man with such force and such effectiveness” Rafael Argullol "The end of the world as a work of art". "(...) if the ancients idealized beauty, neoclassicism idealized the Greeks." Umberto Ecco “History of ugliness” D'aLembert & Diderot's encyclopedia and Winckelmann's new historicism brought the world two terrible ideas: That by ordering time we order the world and that only empires generate culture. These ideas deeply marked the thought of the 18th-19th century, as well as violently the history and politics of the 20th century. Today we like to think that art (especially the image) at the service of power, social engineering to generate bodies, ways of thinking and standardized identities are things of the past. But it only takes five minutes of television to discover that this aesthetic corpse from the past is still very present.

I am an artist and designer. I grew up in Alcobendas and settled in Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, in 2003, where I currently reside. From a very young age I developed an enormous interest in history, art history and analog photography, which led me to study Fine Arts, focusing on the world of restoration, thinking about the masters of the Italian Renaissance and the Spanish Baroque. Although finally the absence of creativity in this field of work and study led me to another path. I worked for a time as a copyist at the Prado Museum to study how to paint my favorite classics, and then I devoted myself exclusively to everything that caught my attention both in terms of subjects and techniques (engraving, woodcut, inks on greasy paper, mural painting, egg tempera, polymeric putties with marble dust, etc.) I work as an illustrator in various specialized magazines, as a web designer, creating storyboards for film and television. I went through several multidisciplinary artistic formations, the last one being "Make Make Creative Process". During the study with this artistic training, focused on the synaesthetic process and creativity, I find a line to develop (Prometheu error: conjunction of body, movement, music and space) in which I am currently immersed.
