This carving is thought to be around 14,000 years old. The sculptor has carved it in low relief, on reindeer antler, and shown the bison turning to lick it's side.It was found in a rock shelter in the Vezere valley, Dordogne , France. It is an exquisite and sophisticated work of art of the highest quality.

I was in charge of drafting on sites of excavation and in the office illustrating finds.
