My obsession with quinces started when I was a child. On the farm my mum, brother and I would stand on the back of the ute and pick quinces. My nan used to put them in apple crumbles I think. What I mainly remember was the smell. The quince is also called a love or golden apple and is linked to Aphr...

First and foremost art for me is about communication, a way to make you feel the way that I do and to help me to understand why I am the way I am. Im good with my words and I love language but there’s only so much I can say, words can fail me while art never will. I look at the world through two diametrically opposing lenses. The first is internal, an almost microscopic focus on myself. I reference my own esoteric experiences and overthink my existence. The other is extensively broad, I look at the world like its my first time seeing it. The way an alien or time traveller would see it, with a sense of analysis and awe. The topics of interest to me are also exceedingly broad, bordering on everything ever since the beginning of time. Topics of interest among others include women, history, the environment, love, beauty, desire, fun, death, mental health / illness. Essentially I'm creating a holistic record of life during this period, in hopes that the human species will survive long enough to be interested in the part of history we’re currently living in. My main focuses however are women both past and present, and the importance of female friendships,.Including those bordering on the homo erotic, like so many of my own friendships. I also have an interest in archeology, history, anthropology. I love being alive, I love humankind. I think were an amazing species. Strange and cruel but amazing none the less. Here I also focus on womenkind though out history. Our economic disadvantage and our otherness which is so often ignored or removed from history. I work with an array of mediums primarily drawing and painting. However I do periodically work with sculpture, textiles and bone carving.
