Rudbeckia Lockdown No.2 Drawing

'Rudbeckia Lockdown 2020 No.2' is drawn on Fabriano watercolour paper 300gms with Faber-Castell 'Albrech Durer' Black Pencils. I like to create an edge around the image so that the drawing has a white border and is presently unframed. The drawing is inspired by the Rudbeckia flowers I had grown from seed and had watched grow in our small garden. There was one show stopper flower that attracted the world around it. I wanted to create a depth of space and inner world, hidden in nature. The drawing was produced at home during the first covid lockdown, and I enjoyed the simplicity of using the same make of pencil on textured paper to explore the different tonal qualities, patterns and shapes.
