Art Description

Drawing: Charcoal on Paper.

'Sê weer' is Afrikaans for 'Say again?' A humorous second study of 'Hoe sê?' but in a more interesting format, accentuating the relationship between the two animals.

This composition serves for quite a few giggles at exhibitions. And that is what I like about this one. I'd much rather have people walking away from one of my pieces with a smile on their faces than the opposite. The world is full of sadness, disaster and chaos. I don't have to remind people of, CNN and BBC does quite a good job at this. I'd rather remind people of kindness, peace, hope and the lighter side of life. Call me superficial but I think we need this. I can't change the tragedies in life but I sure can help make people feel better.

(It is rented until Oc. 2016. After which I will make it available for sale again.)
