Drawing: Pastel, Paint on Paper.
The work is in soft pastel with some oil paint to accentuate certain elements. Soft pastel is my preferred medium to work with because of its volatility (such as life).
The light at the end of the tunnel could symbolize enlightenment or someone looking for it, hence the title. The red line (which I use in almost all my drawing) put a certain tension in the work. It is by purpose not a straight line and does not go to the end of the tunnel. The confident figure is an idealist (It could be me) which isn't easy to be in this society. The drawing has a certain melancholy and positivism which we have to be (for us and our children).
My favorite device: "what weakens and confuses / to be no-one and nowhere / yet also to be someone and here."
And that figure is someone and here....
