Seductive Drawing

Traveling in Egypt I continually was on the lookout for interesting faces for subject matter. I'd bought all this wonderful papyrus paper in Luxor and couldn't wait to try it out for drawing portraits. This woman had very little interest in me or my interest in doing her portrait. It was close to the call to prayers, something that happens five times a day in that part of the world. Everyone is on their way to the temples that seem to be everywhere just after the calls echo through the markets, reverberating throughout the densely packed streets. The potential subjects are literally everywhere. She hesitated for just a second and didn't blink when I took her picture, then disappeared into the sea of humanity. Wow!
