Although I have no formal education in fine arts, I've practiced painting, drawing, graphics since early childhood. More on my own, drawing every day and reading about art. Also, the philosophy and the literature I've read so far (a great deal, from Plato to Kirkegaard, from Villon to Gombrowicz, and the list can go on) has nurtured my intuition in writing as well as in drawing. Recently, I've gained interest in digital graphics, in transforming the "paper-image" with new highlights and combinations up to the point when the image at its last stage becomes a "melt-down" of the basic image. I usually tag my artworks as abstract - however, I do not entirely believe in this term. Or, perhaps, this term would require a new definition. I would say that my artworks are rather "organic" instead of abstract - they resemble a mineral dimension that fights its way toward the inner spiritual world. Maybe, sometimes, our past is also mineral - a stone tossed in the window beside which we linger day by day. A stone against glass. You see, now it comes to my mind the stone symbol frequently used by Celan. I cite out of memory: "I've heard that in the water there's a stone and a circle, and above the water there's word that puts the circle around the stone." Well, in some moments, we only have silence to make this possible. Or we have nothing. Only the great bruised distance between the stone and the circle - and will the circle move, will it make the water sparkle, will it shed our reflection?
