Star tightrope walker is a work of art from the Harlequin Soul series. Many of my paintings and graphic works are dedicated to the theater, because creating scenography for performances has taken me more than 20 years. I created the scenery for about 200 performances in different theaters of Ukraine. In my creative activity, the theater is closely intertwined with painting and graphics. This is how a series of theatrical images and characters turned out, in which the main thing is not external resemblance, but the disclosure of a person’s spiritual qualities using theatrical means and symbols.   "Star tightrope walker" is a work about Love and the power of intention. ... Harlequin alone was so lonely and sad that he stopped sleeping. At night he looked out the window. When the sky was starry, the night passed unnoticed. Harlequin began to distinguish stars by brightness, shape and color. Mentally talking to them. Nights became more interesting and shorter. Once Harlequin talked to one of the stars and she answered him. Not in words, but in his soul her gratitude for the conversation sounded clearly. He told the star everything he had been silent about for many years. She listened with understanding. Harlequin began to wait until nightfall, while others were waiting for the first rays of the sun. He was waiting for the stars to appear in the sky. He was in love ... Once the day came when Harlequin could not wait until nightfall. He wanted to see his star, talk to her, never parting. His impulse was so strong that taking a step from the windowsill, instead of falling and breaking, he took off. Unbeknownst to his eyes, his planet was far behind. Around there was only a deep blue sky and many stars. They became closer and brighter. The stars stretched their rays toward him, indicating the direction of the path. Tired Harlequin began to move around the sky with strings of star rays. In surprise, he noticed that among the stars there is no envy and anger. They are ready to help meet lovers. So Harlequin became a Star tightrope walker. He still needs to be on the road to meet his beloved ...   Graphic work was done in 2008, in mixed media: acrylic and gouache on paper.
