About The Artwork

"I don't even think I was home on my own the day this incident occurred. But for whatever reason I was heading down stairs to the basement. Then......right in front of me a bald white man really neatly dressed was reaching into the slot style electricity meter we had.....which had a draw underneath which collected half pennies, or full pennies!! I just stood.....Startled. Shocked. I probably screamed for somebody to come.....which may have made the robber scarper? How this man managed to enter the house. I do not know. Sadly, it was not uncommon in those days.......late 60's early 70's for burglaries to take place whilst the occupants/family were observed as not being in another section of the property!" I was about 6-8 years old when that incident occurred and for many years after it Even into my teens The memory of that man though not the details of his features Remained vivid in my mind As I found myself automatically assuming That every bald white man Was a house robber! Why did I choose the medium? The immediacy of paper and pencil. This time I used oil pastels which to reminds me of what I knew as 'crayons' back in the day at school. A medium I never liked the touch of. Or the way the used to peel. Nor the way they smelt! Why the subject matter? It is beyond me as to why at this point in my life it feels so right to re-depict certain events? I think it is the experiences of being stalked I do not feel I have a problem letting go of what went on in my past However, I do think the need to depict may relate too the energy and problem of not being let go of which is not a delusion on my part. The sting in the tail, or of the tail which may relate to the mention a delusion, or believed to be delusional - as to why that word in particular has come up, or is standing out. Is more than likely because of the strength of projection from the, or an - enemy so to speak. I can only define my style as impatient Very loose able to only give an impression Therapeutically this things seem to come up to be solved A lot of things happened to me in that home Yet, there are only a few things which stick out to the point they need to be depicted to leave Scene Depiction Located in the basement hallway Meter was the left wall as you entered the door Follow through against the left wall was the front room area Dining room Tiny kitchenette which led through to a small bathroom and the back yard!

Born in London. From kitchen table top, to connecting to the market place creating a hub of creativity. I have had the opportunity and privilege to live and experience many different area's in England and addresses in and around London, living in different social conditions, with a different set of challenges and joy's at each location. These experiences continue to be the biggest influence and inspiration for my work to date, inspiring imaginative impressions, which translate into expressions of fictional characters, and decorative designs. Whilst I did attend formal schooling, I did manage to achieve leaving secondary schooling without qualifications. Later gaining qualifications by investing in vocational training. I initially took up sketching to help me with clothes design, attending a local community college, it was a cheaper option as a young parent at the time. I come from a background of naturally creative people, where things like clothes were made without patterns, or any prior preparation for design. It was a time of instinctive survival, with a jump in and get it done way of living and thinking, learn on the go type of attitude toward life. Writing poetry plays the role of being my first point of creativity, it is a combination of free flow journal writing, "free flow" is a method of unblocking personal expression. Examples of this is the pen sketch and textile remnant journals, where poetry, meaningful sayings, and short messages meet. Expressing myself through writing journals, poetry, and even finding a way of writing threw creating an image, led me to explore painting as a further means of deeper self expression, exploration and release. What emerged is a spontaneous method of painting, composition admittedly is not a study in every piece initially, but emerges in the form of allowing a subject to develop in a space, in whatever form or position it takes. Coming from the era where Art was not seen as a proper job, taking that notion on - for a long time. I struggled to come terms with art as anything other than frivolity, despite being a creative. To understand my work further; The experience behind the creative process. Throughout my life as a child to present day I have been effected by the collection of behaviours known as Stalking. As a child and teen I witnessed others experiences.
