About The Artwork
Australia's wetlands provide an endless source of inspiration to me, so this is my stylised/realistic homage to that, conceived as a top-down view of various Australian native fauna and flora converging in a small waterhole/billabong. I usually work in ink and watercolour, so thought it would be a suitable medium for the intricate drawing work. Featured species include platypus, goanna (monitor lizard), eastern long-necked tortoise, tiger snake, water rat and barred bandicoot, among others.
