ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Day of Time is a captivating pencil and watercolor artwork that delves into the profound and complex nature of time. In this piece, three intertwined portraits of the same woman are presented, each portraying the subject in her natural state of undress. However, it is the central portrait that stands out as a powerful symbol of the artist's exploration of time. In the central portrait, the woman's face is adorned with intricate lines, akin to a mask. These lines, reminiscent of the marks left by the passage of time, add depth and complexity to her countenance. This central figure appears to be older, yet still retaining the essence of her youthful self. It is here that the essence of "The Day of Time" is most apparent. The three coexisting portraits of the same woman beautifully encapsulate the cyclical and interconnected nature of time. The outer portraits represent her in her youthful prime, while the central portrait reveals the toll of time, perhaps alluding to the experiences and changes that life bestows. The central figure, although marked by time, is still unmistakably her, underscoring the idea that our past selves continue to reside within us. This artwork invites viewers to contemplate the coexistence of different temporal states within a single individual. It prompts us to reflect on the intricate interplay of past, present, and future, and how these temporal dimensions contribute to the multifaceted nature of our identities. "The Day of Time" challenges our understanding of time as a linear concept and instead portrays it as a cyclical and interconnected force that weaves the past, present, and future into a complex tapestry. It beckons us to consider the way time shapes our identities and to recognize that, in each of us, our past and present selves coexist, contributing to the rich tapestry of human experience.

Zoe Lunar radiates and works in Mexico City, is a graduate of the national school of painting, sculpture and engraving "La Esmeralda". He is an artist in constant formation, who seeks plastic, visual and sound experimentation. His work feeds on time as matter and how it helps to interpret reality, through temporal representations, of spaces that converge in their social context and how this influences the formation and interpretation of our different contemporary realities; making use of the qualities of painting and drawing to make deformations in a perceptive portrait of different moments, and personal times in a single interpretation. He is currently nurturing his plastic work especially in painting and drawing, giving him new outlets like AR in some of his new works and occasionally making music and video.
