Inspired by observation, different readings and experience. This is a work that gradually takes shape and form, starts out from the outdoor spaces to indoor dwelling, of figures awaiting something, lost in thought, meditating, submerged in their own setting, their own solitude. We can recognize their situation as similar to our own. Although the spaces change, but they’re one and the same in the way they reflect their singularity and feelings. The choice of the drawing medium calls for a malleable substance, that is the dry pastel, a very delicate material to work with, of lines and edges of colors that meet, in an act of shaping and reshaping, modeling, erasing and smudging, while all tend to add a desirable effect to the subjects at work. Therefore, the figures and their sometimes mystic universe are the product of pigmented colors of nature that produce so much dust that withers in the air when colors hit the surface, but leaves traces so prominent on the canvas.
