ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Born in 1946. In Orpington, Kent, England. After many years in the creative business of advertising, I now live and work in Greece as an artist and gallery owner. I also have a studio and offer lessons to beginners and intermediates. My other hobby or skill is in music, specialising in guitar. My art stemmed from my love of drawings and cartoons. As I moved into the world of painting (in oils), the Impressionists made the greatest impact on me.Now I paint in acrylics, for the sake of ease of aplication and speed, and combine these influences to produce pictures of landscapes, buildings, and female form studies. Nevertheless, I still maintain a sense of humour concerning my images, and often return to pencil-sketch cartoons, both of people, situations and animals.
