I work on the basis of photographs, without copying them. I paint in acrylic, applying the color with small and fast strokes. They are expressive paintings. The small and fast strokes define the model in a precise way almost like realism or photorealism, even if nothing has to do with them. My painting does not attempt to create the illusion of a realistic copy, even if everything is defined unequivocally. We are constantly bombarded with images that want to seduce. Advertisements, posters or multimedia images are designed to be grabbed quickly. The message must be decoded in an instant and therefore remember. My paintings develop in a life of their own and "force" the viewer to dwell on the image and take their time to get to know it. Instead of a "quick consumption", you have to take a break from the surrounding chaos and dedicate yourself to watching. Furthermore, faces are never beautiful or standardized, but belong to individuals; I try to go further and get to the core of the human being in its essence. The background seems to wrap the images like a blanket, almost to shelter them from the world around them. People are not puppets, but multifaceted personalities, full of contradictions and feelings. The look at the paintings is like a mirror that reflects on ourselves.
