About The Artwork

My work is driven to discover the moments in myself that are “informed “ by a new, unforeseen direction, a wink, a movement, a communication. Following directions and see what happens. It is so cool. An adventure. Pretense has no meaning. My drawings or paintings sometimes take weeks, months or years to complete. Every gesture has meaning, yet my work can look like child’s play or quickly drawn sketches. They are ancient maps for a present need. A diary of an alchemist.

my whole life I was interested in putting the unseen on paper. I was obsessed with it and deeply despaired by not being able to express. This was the reason and start of my spiritual journey. For 15 years I did not paint or make any objects. Until 2012, it was given back to me to start again. Privately without the need to show my work to anyone. The space between things seems more important than things themselves. Just this awareness that happens just beyond the reachable. I was feeling its divinity. It seemed never possible to look at this directly.
