Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together. ~John Ruskin About the artwork Trauma. by: Grethe Angen In this piece, Grethe depicts trauma and fear, which can be related to PTSD as one of the results of a traumatic event that an individual experienced and, in some cases, can be viewed as one of the first reactions after the traumatic event has occurred. In this drawing, shadows and shading are used to show importance and less importance throughout the drawing. Along with this, light/lightly shaded areas in the drawing gather the viewer’s attention, for instance, around the hand and bottom right of the drawing. The use of straight lines allows the viewers to follow them and view a different face when following the lines, ultimately creating a triangle.
