I was born in 1962 in Montevideo (Uruguay) and started my artistic career at the end of the '70s, with a series of ink drawings (also ballpoint pen and marker). During the 1980s, I expressed myself through erotic motives and continued with a series of drawings based on comic figures. The beginning of the '90s meant for me, a diversification of techniques, among others, the introduction of photography in the series "Hinges of reality". During those years, I ventured into the field of illustration - posters and album covers - and comics. The decade culminated with the series "Fragments 1", with portraits based on the use of color pencil and pastel, and a new erotic series with photographic elements. During the last years I worked in a series of larger format works characterized by the variation of formal solutions and the use of digital techniques. I have exhibited in numerous exhibitions both individually and collectively in prestigious private galleries and cultural institutions in some of the world's major capitals. I published the books "La mirada de Eros" (2004), "La suspensión del tiempo. Acercamiento a la filosofía de Manuel Espínola Gómez" (2007) and "Bisagras y simulacros: ensayos escogidos (1997-2015)" (2016). I am co-director of the Uruguayan visual arts magazine La Pupila since 2007.
