Winter Garden is an artist's book made up of 47 pages of various sizes arranged from the smallest to the largest, made of cardboard and recycled crepe paper, assembled entirely by hand with a natural yarn binding. The book is enriched by a hardcover with a central opening, embellished with a metal and rope finish. The cover is in the shape of a box with the entire book hidden inside. Cover dimensions: front (two equal parts measuring 9.5x15.2 cm), back (19.5x9.5 cm), right spine (1.5x15.2 cm), left spine (2.5x15.2 cm). The book features some of my favourite themes and passions: nature, artistic experimentation, photography and drawing, the recycling of old, pre-loved, natural materials and poetry. The book features collages with my drawings, some photographs taken during the winter in the backyard garden, trying to capture small details of sleeping nature and accompanied by some of my verses and thoughts written over several years (in Italian). I created the drawings using various techniques: graphite, monotype or even frottage using various types of leaves. I assembled everything using the collage technique and finished the composition by inserting some geometric backgrounds made with old paper. Some pages are enriched with needle stitching made using natural fiber thread. Winter garden exists as an original and unique artist's book and is stamped and signed on the back by the artist.

I am an Italian artist and illustrator. My works depict a world in which reality is represented through metaphorical and psychological images. My interest is focused on issues related to the psyche. I'm interested in feelings, emotions and troubles of the soul. My subjects show a fragile humanity, not out of inner weakness but out of a natural vocation. The use of vibrant colors and bold contrasts, alongside the mélange of various media, enable me to create a complex world where reality coexists with metaphorical elements, the surreal and psychological; a world that can be interpreted in a variety of levels. I work on paper, cardboard and canvas using mixed media: monotype, collage, graphite, acrylic, pastels, grattage. Environmental problems are a topic that I hold dear and all my artistic production develops around the idea of recovering and recycling poor and discarded materials. I find inspiration in paper as a material, and I use discarded magazines, clippings of my drawings or monotypes, old printed papers and envelopes.
