In ordinary texts, words are clearly discernible and follow a regulated syntax, ensuring readability. In contrast, asemic texts lack recognizable "words," akin to the quantum principle where momentum and position can't be simultaneously detected. This removes the familiar sense of reality from textuality. Asemic texts challenge readers to derive their own meanings, transcending mere aesthetic artifacts. They disrupt conventional reading experiences, merging literature with visual art. Spontaneous handwriting traits, dots, stains, and digital bits form a loose alphabet in this "no language's land." Asemic writers create secretive scripts, reinventing language through form and meaning without fixed codes. This leaves readers without traditional reference points. Conventions are absorbed into networks of obscure but organized signs, requiring new paradigms. Marcel Broodthaers suggested even legal documents inspire: «La place que le mot y occupe est une place nette. L'ambiguïté du Droit tient sans doute à l'interprétation du texte; à l'esprit et non à la lettre.» This raises the question of whether asemic writing represents a language zero-point or the state of words before they form an alphabet. While classical texts may approach meaninglessness, asemic texts retain residual meaning. As structures collapse, signs attempt to reorganize in the void of deconstruction. Traditional language is hard to change because words describe things we visualize through daily experience. In asemic texts, asemicism supersedes signs and meanings, showing writing's endless delay in achieving meaning through a paradoxical yet strict formalism of illegibility. Two systems coexist: one grounded in tangible "things" and another in signs unexposed to any "thing," likely remaining so.
