Young Woman with a Water Pitcher (Vermeer Replica) Drawing

This replica of Vermeer´s Young Girl with a Water Pitcher is an early drawing and one of my only surviving works from art school (Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Almería, EAA) where I graduated with honors. I was lucky enough to have had a brilliant and passionate drawing teacher, Pepe Ocaña, who pushed us as much as possible, requiring us to hand in one, two or three photorrealistic drawings or replicas of the old masters per week. Needless to say, our class of 30 students was soon whittled down to 4 or 5. As far as I know, some of my classmates are still there at the school trying to pass the subject. Ocaña was a blessing to me and it´s thanks to him that I learnt to draw to the level I can today (though I have a lifetime of learning to look forward to). It is framed in a brown temporary mount, aproximately 6cm across, to protect the paper. It can easily be removed, if desired, without damaging the original drawing.
