About The Artwork

During times of uncertainty and darkness came a strong desire for hope and bright future. The clash between hope and darkness, with the bright colors breaking the dark shades expresses the eternal conflict between optimism and evil. Hopefully the viewer will feel a mixture of unsettling emotions of conflict and hope for brightness prevailing. The entire work is made of recycled materials (clothes). On the top back side there is there is a device to be hanged, like a window curtain.

I was born in Moldova, former republic of the USSR. From the age of 11 I studied at SSRMAP which is currently the National School of Arts. The curriculum of the school included the technical rigors of drawing, painting and forms but not of decorative arts. In the field of textile I am entirely self-taught. Nature is my main source of inspiration, I am always fascinated and thrilled to re-discover Fibonacci's proportions from the ancestral ammonites to the flower plant in a pot. I admire and research the hand-craft techniques from throughout the evolution of human kind, especially those related to the activities of women. Usually the nature and variety of the textile thread offers inspiration and determines the object that it is going to be transformed to. My work panels are like hymns, songs dedicated to the phenomenons of nature. They try to express the rich and abundant variety of nature, specifically flowers and plants. Currently I live in Bucharest/Romania
